International scientific and practical online conference “Didactics of the network lesson”

14–15 November, 2019, the 3rd international scientific and practical online conference “Didactics of the network lesson” was held at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University as part of the international scientific symposium “Continuing teacher education – the guarantor of the future”, dedicated to the 105-year-old university.

The following leading speakers took part in the plenary discussion, which was dedicated to issues of international cooperation in the field of distance and online learning:

Povilaitis Vladas, Director of the Baltic Regional Center of Competence in Online Learning Office of the Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor ща Baltic Federal University named after I. Kant (Kaliningrad, Russian Federation) with a report on the „Basics of the development of MOOCs for the Stepik educational platform“;

Kankevichiene Lina, IESED project manager, assistant professor of information technology at the University of Applied Sciences, doctor of social sciences, associate professor (Alytus, Republic of Lithuania) presented a report on the topic “Cooperation in the development of electronic courses in the framework of the Erasmus+  project”;

Minich Oksana, Head of the Center for the Development of Information Technologies at BSPU, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, head of the IESED project working group at BSPU with a report “Formation of ecosystems of a digital pedagogical university to prepare a modern teacher”.

Also at the meeting, the results were summed up of the competition for the best scientific and educational video on a school subject or educational disciplines of the system of continuous pedagogical education held within the framework of the conference.

15 November, two events aimed at improving the efficiency of the educational process took place at the conference „Didactics of the network lesson“: the methodological seminar „The Moodle Distance Learning System in Education“ and the Festival of Pedagogical Ideas, at which the Belarusian State Pedagogical University teachers presented their best electronic training complex and interactive courses.  Were presented on the Festival two distance learning courses developed as part of the implementation of the IESED project: “Professional English” (V. Musienko) and “Psychology of Information Perception” (E. Pogodina).

Final Conference of the IESED project

The results of the IESED project were presented during the final conference on 8-9 October at BSPU (Belarus). The conference was attended by the representatives of 9 project partner institutions (5 HEIs from Belarus and 4 HEIs from Lithuania, France, Poland and the UK), as well as business representatives and stakeholders.

A unified ICT Specialist Profile, created in the IESED project partnership, was designed to support the development of the goals and objectives for the upgraded curricula and programs under which teachers, managers and study coordinators were trained. As the result of the project, 5 study programmes were upgraded and 25 new study course descriptions and electronic courses were created in the Russian and English languages.

International conference “Information Technologies 2019: Theory, Practice, Innovations”

On 9 May 2019 International Applied Research Conference INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES 2019: THEORY, PRACTICE, INNOVATIONS took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.

Partners of ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences in Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme project „Innovative ICT Education for Social-Economic Development (IESED)“ : Taras Hryshchanka from Private Institute of Management and Business (Belarus), Vitali Asipovich, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (Belarus), dr. Aliaкsandr Pyko from School of Business of Belarusian State University (Belarus) participated in the conference and made presentations as well.

The articles based on the conference reports are published in the reviewed publication of academic papers (electronic edition at https://alytauskolegija.lt/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/2019-konferencijos-leidinys.pdf) the Role of Higher Education Institutions in Society: Challenges, Tendencies and Perspectives (ISSN 2029-9311), which is placed in the Index Copernicus database included into the list of databases of recognized international databases compiled by the Lithuanian Science Board.

Presentation of the international project IESED Erasmus + program at the international scientific-practical conference “Actual problems of business education”

Within the framework of the XVIIIth international scientific-practical conference „Actual problems of business education“, which was held on April 25-26, 2019 at the School of Business of Belarusian State University, Dr. Yury Silkovich, Chair of Digital Systems and Technologies Department and Dr. Pyko, Associate Professor of Innovation Management Department, in the section „Distance education and business education for adults“ shared the information with colleagues on the international project „Innovative ICT education for socio-economic development (IESED) supported by the program Erasmus +, telling about its goals, objectives and main achievements.

Dr. Pyko, IESED project manager, noted that the project implementation is in line with the priorities of the “Program of socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020”, as well as the “Concept of the formation and development of the business education system in the Republic of Belarus and the plan of measures for its implementation”.

In addition, the speaker reported about positive results of teacher’s internships to the partner Universities in France, Poland and UK, the benefits of co-working with colleagues from European universities, as well as the possibility of creating a media studio at the School of Business of Belarusian State University.

Dr. Silkovich reported that business education is in the process of developing and searching for new approaches to personnel training for the innovation economy, and the problem of training IT specialists for our country is particularly relevant.

That is why there is a need for a qualitative review of the competences of IT specialists in accordance with the requirements of real business, the modernization of curricula, the development and implementation of new courses, as well as the wider use of English in the preparation of IT specialists.

It is planned that, in the future, the «Information Resources Management» program updated in the framework of the project will be launched in English. Dr. Silkovich told about educational disciplines of the specialty „Information Resources Management“ which will be updated as part of the project and on the updated IT specialist profile of the project developed in cooperation with EU experts, on the development of educational and methodological complexes on 9 disciplines.

Dr. Pyko noted that the project will improve the quality of higher education in ICT through strengthening transnational cooperation and improving the educational environment for training IT specialists, upgrading the 5 most popular ICT specialties in Belarus, as well as facilitate the integration into the Bologna process and the European area higher education.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, as well as representatives of the business community and colleagues from Belarusian and foreign universities, who also appreciated the usefulness and results of the IESED project.

International applied research conference “Information Technologies 2018 Theory, Practice, Innovations”

On 11 May 2018 International Applied Research Conference “Information Technologies 2018: Theory, Practice, Innovations” took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.

The conference welcomed over 80 participants – guests from Fil. Dr. Jan-U. Sandal institute (Norway), Chernigov National University of Technology (Ukraine), Grodno Branch of BIP Institute of Law (Poland), delegates and presenters from Kauno Kolegija/University of Applied Sciences, Kaunas Technical College, Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences, Utena University of Applied Sciences, VILNIAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences, Vilnius College of Technologies and Design and Šiauliai State College, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Aleksandras Stulginskis University and Vytautas Magnus University.

Annual publication of scientific reviewed publications “Role of Higher Education Institutions in Society: Challenges, Tendencies and Perspectives” (ISSN 2029-9311) will be issued after the conference.

BSPU: INTERNATIONAL PRACTICAL WORKSHOP IN THE UNIVERSITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT OF THE ERASMUS PROGRAM

From 4 to 6 April 2017, the first organizational meeting of the consortium of the Erasmus program project “Innovative ICT education for social and economic development” (IESED) – “Innovative education in the field of information and communication technologies for social and economic development” and international practical Seminar “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals” within the framework of implementation.

More than 80 representatives from 9 educational institutions-partners of Belarus, Lithuania, Great Britain, France and Poland took part in the event: Alytus College (University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania – project coordinator); Institute of Business and Management Technologies of BSU; BSPU; Private Institute of Management and Business (PIMB); Vitebsk State Technological University (VSTU); Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR); University of De Monfort (Great Britain); University of Science and Technology Lille-1 (France); University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland), students and teachers of BSPU.

Vice-rector for educational work of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University Valery Zelenkevich, head of the national Erasmus office in Belarus Nikolay Izmailovich Listopad, director of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Danuta Remekieni, coordinator of the project, head of the international cooperation department of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Rosalia Radlinkaite, Vladimir Vladimirovich Apanasovich, Director of the Institute of Business and Management of Technologies of the Belarusian State University, Rector of the Private Institute of Management Yury Ivanovich Miksyuk, the first vice-rector of the Vitebsk State Technological University Valery Anatolyevich Zhiznevsky.

At the organizational meeting, all 9 partner universities presented the participants of the seminar with presentations of their institutions, got acquainted with the goals, objectives and expected results of the project, discussed topical issues of training ICT specialists in the conditions of the Belarusian labor market.

The members of the management team took part in the discussion of the work plan for the project implementation, and for the teachers from the Belarusian partner universities and experts from the EU partner universities an excursion around the university was organized, including a visit to the art gallery, the renovated BSPU History Museum, the rare book room and the scientific- Research laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.

On April 5, the work of the project consortium continued in the framework of the international workshop “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals”. At the seminar representatives of universities presented their experience in the formation of ICT competencies in the context of popular specialties in education, IT industry, marketing in Belarus, Great Britain, Poland and France. The experts shared their experience in the formation of training programs in IT areas at partner universities of the European Union, as well as new directions in the development of pedagogy for translational research.

Analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of the profile direction “Mathematics and Information Technology”, which is being developed by the Belarusian State Pedagogical University within the framework of the project, was presented by the dean of the Physics and Mathematics Department, Sergei Ivanovich Vasilets.

At a meeting of the management team on April 5, considerable attention was paid to the joint development of key competencies of IT professionals in demand in the modern labor market, as well as the development of recommendations and plans for updating curricula in the relevant areas of the project. Within the framework of the meeting, the roles, rights and responsibilities of each partner were identified and agreed upon.

During the seminar on April 5 and 6, its participants made in-depth visits to the leading IT companies – Intransition Software Company, EPAM Systems and Wargaming, and Belarusian partner universities located in Minsk – BSU Institute of Business and Technology Management, Private Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.

On 6 April, summing up the results of the event on the basis of the BSUIR, the coordinator of the project, the dean of the faculty of information technologies of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences, Lina Kankevichiene, expressed her special gratitude to the Belarusian State Pedagogical University for a clear organization of the event, and also expressed deep gratitude to all participants of the seminar for fruitful joint work.

In conclusion, the head of the Center for the Development of Information Technologies of BSPU Oksana Minich expressed confidence in the equally successful continuation of cooperation and achievement of the set goals for the project. At the conclusion of the seminar all partner universities that took part in this event received memorable photographs and souvenirs from the Belarusian State Pedagogical University.

Kick-off meeting and the practical seminar “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in IT Specialist Training” was held 4 – 6 April 2017, 2017 at partner institution Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, in Minsk, Belarus.

Participants attending the meeting: project management group, teachers from Belarus partner universities, experts from EU partner universities, representatives of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and National Erasmus+ office of Belarus, social stakeholders, students.

Introduction and welcome to the kick-off meeting was done by the project coordinator RozalijaRadlinskaitė, who presented Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education Programme. Official greeting on behalf of Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, Belarus, was made by Vice- Rector Valerij Zelenkevich. The Vice – Rector noted that IESED project is very important in the new context of globalization of the market. Project manager dr. Lina Kankeviciene presented all activities of the project. On behalf of the project coordinating institution ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA/University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania, director Danutė Remeikienė congratulated the participants of the kick – off meeting and noted that the project will be interesting and useful for students and teachers and they will be given a perfect opportunity to share knowledge at the highest level between project partners – Belarus and EU universities.
