Erasmus+ Project Expertise Meeting

On 13 – 15 February 2018 Expertise Meeting of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher
Education programme project Innovative ICT Education for Social-Economic Development
(IESED)  No. 574283-EPP-1-2016-1-LT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP took place in Belarusian State
Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, Minsk, Belarus.
The goals of the meeting were: to review the learning outcomes and the outcomes of each new
course, to review the topics of each new course, to develop the conclusions of the evaluation of
each study programme under upgrading.

25th anniversary of French-Belarusian diplomatic relations

SBMT BSU representative Dr. Alexander Pyko was invited into practical seminar on occation of 25th Anniversary of French-Belarusian diplomatic relations, where he had a possibility to present a project INNOVATIVE ICT EDUCATION FOR SOCIAL-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (IESED).

Main focus of the seminar was to analyze the French-Belarusian cooperation at different levels of education. Dr. Pyko shared an experience of Lille University of Science and Technology seminar „Modelling of IT specialist profile“ with the representatives of Universities and other educational establisments.

He underlined that thanks to Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education Programme project IESED we have got an outstanding opportunity to develop professional relations with Lille University of Science and Technology in field of IT-specialists education. We tried to analyze the challenges in IT education and find the ways how to modernize study programmes and update competences according to the market needs and Bologna process.

Practical seminar ”Modelling of IT Specialist Profile”

Practical seminar ”Modelling of IT Specialist Profile”  was held 23 – 27 October, 2017 in partner institution Lille University of Science and Technology, IUT “A” in France.

Within the framework of the seminar the Profile of IT Specialist Competencies and the Description of Course Requirements, in accordance with the requirements of the labour market and the Bologna process, were developed.

The host partner institution invited the seminar participants to the study visit in the IT company ”EuraTechnologies”, which is established in the former factory building “Le Blan-Lafont”, to introduce the innovative start-up platforms, where young entrepreneurs start their business projects in the area of IT. 

Representatives of partner institutions also attended Consortium Meeting 2: the activities of the WP1 “Preparation” and financial aspects of the project implementation were reviewed and estimated.

BSPU: INTERNATIONAL PRACTICAL WORKSHOP IN THE UNIVERSITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT OF THE ERASMUS PROGRAM

From 4 to 6 April 2017, the first organizational meeting of the consortium of the Erasmus program project “Innovative ICT education for social and economic development” (IESED) – “Innovative education in the field of information and communication technologies for social and economic development” and international practical Seminar “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals” within the framework of implementation.

More than 80 representatives from 9 educational institutions-partners of Belarus, Lithuania, Great Britain, France and Poland took part in the event: Alytus College (University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania – project coordinator); Institute of Business and Management Technologies of BSU; BSPU; Private Institute of Management and Business (PIMB); Vitebsk State Technological University (VSTU); Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR); University of De Monfort (Great Britain); University of Science and Technology Lille-1 (France); University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland), students and teachers of BSPU.

Vice-rector for educational work of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University Valery Zelenkevich, head of the national Erasmus office in Belarus Nikolay Izmailovich Listopad, director of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Danuta Remekieni, coordinator of the project, head of the international cooperation department of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Rosalia Radlinkaite, Vladimir Vladimirovich Apanasovich, Director of the Institute of Business and Management of Technologies of the Belarusian State University, Rector of the Private Institute of Management Yury Ivanovich Miksyuk, the first vice-rector of the Vitebsk State Technological University Valery Anatolyevich Zhiznevsky.

At the organizational meeting, all 9 partner universities presented the participants of the seminar with presentations of their institutions, got acquainted with the goals, objectives and expected results of the project, discussed topical issues of training ICT specialists in the conditions of the Belarusian labor market.

The members of the management team took part in the discussion of the work plan for the project implementation, and for the teachers from the Belarusian partner universities and experts from the EU partner universities an excursion around the university was organized, including a visit to the art gallery, the renovated BSPU History Museum, the rare book room and the scientific- Research laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.

On April 5, the work of the project consortium continued in the framework of the international workshop “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals”. At the seminar representatives of universities presented their experience in the formation of ICT competencies in the context of popular specialties in education, IT industry, marketing in Belarus, Great Britain, Poland and France. The experts shared their experience in the formation of training programs in IT areas at partner universities of the European Union, as well as new directions in the development of pedagogy for translational research.

Analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of the profile direction “Mathematics and Information Technology”, which is being developed by the Belarusian State Pedagogical University within the framework of the project, was presented by the dean of the Physics and Mathematics Department, Sergei Ivanovich Vasilets.

At a meeting of the management team on April 5, considerable attention was paid to the joint development of key competencies of IT professionals in demand in the modern labor market, as well as the development of recommendations and plans for updating curricula in the relevant areas of the project. Within the framework of the meeting, the roles, rights and responsibilities of each partner were identified and agreed upon.

During the seminar on April 5 and 6, its participants made in-depth visits to the leading IT companies – Intransition Software Company, EPAM Systems and Wargaming, and Belarusian partner universities located in Minsk – BSU Institute of Business and Technology Management, Private Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.

On 6 April, summing up the results of the event on the basis of the BSUIR, the coordinator of the project, the dean of the faculty of information technologies of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences, Lina Kankevichiene, expressed her special gratitude to the Belarusian State Pedagogical University for a clear organization of the event, and also expressed deep gratitude to all participants of the seminar for fruitful joint work.

In conclusion, the head of the Center for the Development of Information Technologies of BSPU Oksana Minich expressed confidence in the equally successful continuation of cooperation and achievement of the set goals for the project. At the conclusion of the seminar all partner universities that took part in this event received memorable photographs and souvenirs from the Belarusian State Pedagogical University.

A meeting of the consortium on Erasmus +, the IESED project was held in the BSUIR

On April 6 2017, the results of the first Erasmus + installation meeting, the IESED project (Innovative Education in Information and Communication Technologies for Socio-Economic Development) were held at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.

BSUIR was visited by representatives of educational institutions that are members of the consortium of the project:

The participants of the meeting visited the exhibition of achievements of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and the Minsk Radio Technical College, as well as some of the laboratories. Namely, the international educational and research center “Android Software Center”, organized jointly with FORTE Knowledge of the Illinois Technological Association (ITA) with the involvement of IT specialists from the USA; Educational and research center “INTES”, created by the innovative company “INTES” with the support of foreign companies Schneider Electric (France) and CISCO (USA); A joint educational and research laboratory “Embedded mobile systems” with the innovative company AXONIM Devices – a partner of Analog Devices, Texas Instruments and ST Microelectronics.

To the guests of the university there were presented laboratories of the department of electronics, where they prepare specialists for the NPP. And at the department of electronic computers, representatives of the consortium got the opportunity to try the application for karaoke, created due to the methods of modeling speech signals. Recall that this development this year allowed the assistant professor of the department of the EMU BSUIR Ilya Sergeevich Azarov to defend his doctoral dissertation.

Kick-off meeting and the practical seminar “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in IT Specialist Training” was held 4 – 6 April 2017, 2017 at partner institution Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, in Minsk, Belarus.

Participants attending the meeting: project management group, teachers from Belarus partner universities, experts from EU partner universities, representatives of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and National Erasmus+ office of Belarus, social stakeholders, students.

Introduction and welcome to the kick-off meeting was done by the project coordinator RozalijaRadlinskaitė, who presented Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education Programme. Official greeting on behalf of Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, Belarus, was made by Vice- Rector Valerij Zelenkevich. The Vice – Rector noted that IESED project is very important in the new context of globalization of the market. Project manager dr. Lina Kankeviciene presented all activities of the project. On behalf of the project coordinating institution ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA/University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania, director Danutė Remeikienė congratulated the participants of the kick – off meeting and noted that the project will be interesting and useful for students and teachers and they will be given a perfect opportunity to share knowledge at the highest level between project partners – Belarus and EU universities.
